How to get your tax done – even without a payment summary

A frequently asked question from our clients is ‘I didn’t receive my PAYG Payment Summary from my employer, so what do I bring in to get my tax done?’. If this is the case, there is no need to worry because that means that your employer is reporting through Single Touch Payroll (STP).

 

Payment Summaries (now called Income Statements) are available to you through the ATO Online Services on myGov.  The benefit of using a registered Tax Agent like Shepherd + Dudley is that we are also able to access this information via our Tax Agent Portal to assist in completing your Income Tax Return.

 

Further to your Income Statements, we are also able to access the following information:

-          Interest income

-          Dividends & managed fund income

-          Private health tax statement

-          Centrelink benefits received

-          Superannuation deductions claimed

 

Depending on your circumstances, you may not need to bring anything to appointments!
